Gurudwara is a Sikh Temple. The word "Gurudwara" means, the house of the Guru.
The term being derived from Punjabi Language word "Guru" (A Teacher, religious guide) and "Dwara" (Door).
People of all caste, creed and religion are allowed to enter Gurudwara.
However, it is necessary that visitors must remove their shoes, wash their hands and cover their head with cloth before entering the Gurudwara.
Visitors are also forbidden to go into gurudwara while they are inebriated or possess alcohol, cigarettes or any intoxicating substance.
There are many Gurudwara's in the world.

Gurudwara Ber Sahib is situated in SultanPur Lodhi(district Kapurthala) in Punjab, India.
This is the historical gurudwara of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Guru Nanak used to take bath in Bein river and then meditate.
He stayed here for 14 years and 9 months.
He planted a Ber Tree on this spot.

Gurudwara Panja Sahib is situated at Hasan Abdal, 48 kms from Rawalpindi in Pakistan.
This is the place where Guru Nanak Dev Ji stopped the hurled rock with his hand leaving his hand print in the rock.
Water started to flow from his handprint.
The rock is still present there.
The amazing thing is, that the handprint is said to match every one's handprint no matter what it is like.
And water is still flowing from the rock.

Gurudwara Khadoor Sahib is situated in town of Khadoor Sahib(near Tarn Taran) in Punjab, India.
Guru Angad Dev ji sat on the throne and came to Khadoor Sahib.
He spent around 13 years, here, preaching his followers.
And even he left his heavenly abode at this place only.

Gurudwara Goindwal Sahib is on the banks of river Beas.
It is situated at a distance of 30 km south-east of Amritsar in Punjab,India.
Guru Amar Das Ji established this place and personally helped in the construction of the Gurudwara and Baoli (well) with 84 steps leading down to it.
He said that whoever recited the entire Japji prayer of Guru Nanak on each of the 84 steps with a pure heart, after bathing in the Baoli would receive spiritual emancipation.

It has the distinction of having the largest sarovar (water pond) of all the gurudwaras.
It is near to Amritsar.

This is the historical place where Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji visited and relaxed.

This is the historical place visited by Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji.
Due to Guru ji's blessings a mango tree situated here became full of riped mangos in the season not suited for mangos.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is situated in New Delhi, India.
The eight Sikh Guru, Guru Har krishan Sahib ji resided here during his stay in Delhi.
During that time, there was a smallpox and cholera epidemic, and Guru ji helped the suffered people by giving aid and fresh water from the well at this house.

Gurudwara Baba Bakala is the historical shrine at Baba Bakala in Punjab, India.
This is situated at village Baba Bakala on Gurdaspur road, a kilometer away from rayya (on Amritsar road).
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji used to meditate in his underground cell at this place.

This gurudwara was made on the land where the Mughals in 1675 A.D. martyred the Sikh Guru Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji.

Guru Gobind Singh ji reached Alamgir village after the martyrdom of his mother and four sons by Mughals and stayed here for few days.
